Bee Leasing for 2025 Agricultural Valuation

 

Walker Honey Farm offers bee lease services to landowners seeking agricultural valuation for properties between 5 and 20 acres. We currently serve Bell, Milam, and Falls Counties, with limited availability in McLennan, Coryell, Lampasas, and Burnet Counties.

Pricing:

Our pricing structure is based on distance and ranges from $275 to $300 per hive, covering all maintenance fees for the full seven-month (or longer) duration of the 2025 season. This comprehensive service includes hive maintenance, and restocking of any failed hives at no additional cost. All hives remain the property of Walker Honey Farm. The lease fee covers the service of providing and maintaining the hives for agricultural valuation purposes.

County Requirements:

Each county establishes specific requirements for bee hive density. Generally, most counties require a minimum of six hives for the first five acres and one additional hive for every 2.5 additional acres, maintained for at least seven months annually. Please note that your property must have been filed with the county for agricultural use in five of the past seven years to be eligible for agricultural valuation using bees.

Walker Honey Farm Requirements:

To ensure efficient service and the well-being of our bees, we require the following:

• 24-hour gate access via keypad code, combination lock, or key lock (essential for nighttime hive relocation).
• Sufficient gate width and pasture space to accommodate a commercial truck (4500 or larger) and trailer for unloading and maneuvering.
• Truck access to the designated hive location.
